Technology and R&D

The Technology and R&D group includes engineers located at sites in Sweden, China and in the United Kingdom. The Swedish team primarily focuses on development of high-end sewing and embroidery machines, as well as aftermarket products that enhance the sewing experience. The team in China concentrates on the development of sergers, mid-range machines and overall production support. The team in the U.K. has a long history of developing laptop/desktop PC-based embroidery software.

The Technology and R&D group utilizes life cycle planning starting with long-term product plans through end of life rationalization. This highly established product development process utilizes the most modern tools to ensure the most competitive, efficient portfolio. In order to achieve maximum flexibility and decrease time-to-market for new product launches, the group uses Mechanical, Electronic and Software platforms.

Intellectual Property (IP) rights including patents, design protection, and regulatory approvals for SVP Worldwide are handled by the Technology and R&D group.
